Silk City Express Schedule — Station Timings, Stoppage & Ticket Price (2026)

Silk City Express train schedule with station timings, stoppage list and ticket prices between Dhaka and Rajshahi
Note: Train 754 (Rajshahi to Dhaka) does not stop at Dhaka Airport (Biman Bandar) on its return journey — it runs direct from Joydebpur to Kamalapur. This is different from Train 753 which does stop at Airport Station on the outbound journey. If you were planning to alight at Airport Station on the return, you will need to go to Kamalapur instead. Always confirm through eticket.railway.gov.bd before travelling.

Fourteen stations across 245 kilometres makes this a moderately stopping service — not as sparse as the Subarna Express on the Chittagong run, but not as dense as some mail trains. The stops follow the main line northwest from Dhaka, crossing through Gazipur, Tangail, Sirajganj, and Pabna before reaching Rajshahi. Understanding each stop on the Silk City Express Schedule helps you know exactly where to board or get off along the route. Here is what each key stop represents:

Key Stations — Dhaka to Rajshahi Direction Dhaka Airport (Biman Bandar) — 5-minute halt. Serves northern Dhaka passengers — Uttara, Gulshan, Airport Road area. Joydebpur — Gazipur district. Last Dhaka-adjacent stop. Many suburban commuters board here. Tangail — Tangail district town. Known for Tangail saree — another famous textile, fitting for a train named after silk. SH M Monsur Ali — Sirajganj district. Named after a political figure. Gateway to the Bangabandhu Bridge area. Ullapara — Major stop in Sirajganj. Significant boarding point for passengers from this district. Chatmohar — Pabna district. 5-minute halt. Longest intermediate halt on Train 753 — worth noting for a platform break. Ishwardi Bypass Junction — Major junction. Where lines diverge toward Khulna, Jessore, and Chapainawabganj. Abdulpur — Natore district. Final stop before Rajshahi.

The Silk City Express Schedule isn’t just about times and fares — the journey itself has its own character. The Dhaka-Rajshahi corridor does not have the dramatic scenery of the Sylhet tea hills or the excitement of the Padma Bridge crossing on the Khulna route. What it has is something quieter and, in its own way, more characteristically Bangladeshi — the wide, flat, agricultural plains of the northwest, which are among the most productive farmland in the country.

Once you’ve followed the Silk City Express Schedule and reached Rajshahi at 8:20 PM, the city is still lively at that hour — Rajshahi has a strong university town energy, the Shaheb Bazar market area is still busy, and the Padma River embankment is a pleasant evening walk.

  • If you are coming from Uttara, Gulshan, or anywhere in northern Dhaka, board at Dhaka Airport (Biman Bandar) Station rather than Kamalapur. Train 753 stops at Airport Station at 2:53 PM — 23 minutes after the Kamalapur departure. Book your ticket for Airport Station as your boarding point. Note: Train 754 does NOT stop at Airport Station on the return — you will need to go to Kamalapur for the morning return.
  • The Bangabandhu Bridge crossing (roughly 5:00 to 5:10 PM on Train 753) is the visual highlight of this journey. Window seat on either side is worth having — the Jamuna is wide enough that you can see the river in both directions from the bridge.
  • Chatmohar station has a 5-minute halt — the longest intermediate stop on Train 753. If you want to stretch your legs or get platform food, this is your best opportunity on the Dhaka-Rajshahi direction.
  • If you are travelling specifically for mangoes during April to June, consider taking the train to Rajshahi and then a local bus or CNG to Chapainawabganj — the town 45 km west of Rajshahi that is considered the actual mango heartland. The mango variety called Fazli from Chapainawabganj is particularly prized.
  • This train is a popular option for Rajshahi University students travelling home for semester breaks and holidays. During these periods — especially around February and June exam seasons — seats fill up unusually fast. Book as early as possible if travelling in these windows.
